The fabulous Flinders Lane Apartment

The plywood trend has been popular for a while now, and I can see why. Flinders Lane Apartment in Melbourne has been artfully designed by Claire Cousins, Dita Beluli and Jessie Fowler to create a family space on a small budget. The owners were looking to create two bedrooms out of one o make space for a baby. Plywood joinery has been used to define the two spaces instead of building actual walls. The plywood also cleverly doubles up as storage space. I love the way the apartment has been finished including the pretty touches of salmon.  What a massively cool family home!

Looking at this apartment (along with this clever small living space, a fab Malmö home, House for Mother and this stunning monochrome and plywood home) makes me start to wonder where I could use plywood in my own home! How about you?

Hope you have a lovely day!

A light and relaxed Amsterdam home - and give-away winner!

I hope you're enjoying some down time this lovely Sunday?! I was so happy to finally meet interior stylist, writer and photographer Holly Marder a few weeks ago here in my home.  I was very honoured to be a part of her tour as she really does shoot some fabulous homes. Today I wanted to share with you the Amsterdam home of Jessica Peters (owner of Design Lemonade) and her husband Oliver Tardieu which Holly shot for her 'Homes with Heart' series on Decor8 blog. Jessica's love of Dutch design and Scandinavian decorating really shines through. I think this home has heart don't you? And just look at that beautiful baby bump!

A zen Australian home with fabulous architecture

Hello! I'm not sure if I'm ready to post yet today - I'm still recovering from the idyllic Swedish cabin in yesterday's post. Wasn't it fantastic?! I need to find somewhere like that to stay this summer. Anyway, onwards and upwards and from one beautiful home to another beautiful home in a very different way. This Australian home was designed by Whiting Architects (found over at beautiful Bliss blog). Look closely at the interior architecture and you'll see nooks, hidden windows, barn doors and beautiful lighting. Decorated with shades of grey and the slightest hint of a dusty pink accent, it has a very zen feel don't you think?

Could you live here?

I spy Muuto dots, nerd chair, adaptable table and E27 lamp, chunky knit rugs and moroccan style tiles. I love the beautiful linen bedding and the way they have used what looks like a linen double duvet cover for a make-shift bed board - such a great idea?!

Other Australian home love includes the quirky Westgarth Hall, a light and airy beach house, and the fabulous home of an Australian stylist. Oooo, they do it so well down under don't they?!

Before I head off I'm delighted to introduce a new sponsor. Whether you're starting from scratch or already a graphic designer and would like to update your web skills, Shillington College offers three month to one year graphic design courses in 6 different cities around the world which will set you on the path to that creative career within you! Yes please!

Have a lovely day!

A very cool Toronto apartment

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful weekend? Did you get a chance to enter the give-away to win the t'shirt soft bed linen yet? This fabulous Victorian Toronto apartment belongs to John Baker and Juli Daoust and is located directly above their beautiful shop Mjölk (meaning 'milk' in Swedish). -how's that for a commute?! You can definitely see John and Juli's love of all things Scandinavian and Japanese shining through and I also like the brown accents they've used throughout. I once featured their cottage on here which is equally beautiful but in a different way.

*sigh* such a perfect way to brighten up a Monday morning don't you think? Is there anything you love in particular about this space?

I'm all over that wall of dried wild flowers (could this image be from their shop?), I wonder if this can be re-created as a DIY project? It would be so fun for spring.

By the way, I came across a competition over at FinnStyle at the weekend asking people to choose which Marimekko pattern they like the most. They're now down to the final four and would love some help choosing the winner, one lucky participant could win a 100 dollar gift card for their efforts (please let it be me....or you...or me....!)

Have a lovely Monday!

PS Thank you to Miss Moss and Dwell for the inspiration.

The beautiful relaxed home of Anne Ziegler

Hello, how's your Thursday? It's so grey here in Southern Sweden I am in desperate need for something to brighten up my day and I think I've found it in the form of this beautiful house. It's the white, light and airy home of Anne Ziegler, a trend, retail and brand consultant for companies such as Ann Taylor and Victoria's Secret, in Laurel Canyon, California. I love the wide planked light wood floor, layered textures of white and that fab spotted bed spread (anyone know where it's from?). Oh how I love  the whole look and feel of this space.

What a beautiful relaxed, home don't you think?! Anything in particular which catches your eye?

More lovely white homes can be found here, here and here (and no grey in site!).

I hope this space has brightened up your day too!

PS Thank you French By Design for the inspiration - I love your blog! And to Brittany Ambridge for the kind permission to use the images.

Have a lovely day!

The stunning malibu home of a creative couple

Take a cottage in Malibu and combine with a creative couple. The result is going to be fabulous right? The Californian home of LA stylist Becks Welch and film and music cinematographer Darek Wolski (best known for films such as Alice in Wonderland and Pirates of the Caribbean) is just the right blend of modern and contemporary, industrial and cosy, dark and light. Thank you My Paradissi for leading me to this home and to Swedish photographer Martin Löf for the kind permission to share this home. You've made my Tuesday!

I love how we start to see outdoor spaces creep into the home tours, it's a sign that spring is finally here! I've been pinning images of beautiful swimming pools onto my 'Alfresco' board on Pinterest (a girl can but dream right?!).

In case you're mind is also turning to the great outdoors here are some of my favourite outdoor spaces of all time: an oh so stunning montreal oasis (take me there now!), rustic outdoor dining inspiration for those balmy evenings (bring them on!) and the very alternative garden shed.

Have a lovely day!

A fabulous grey Australian holiday home

Smoke grey. It's broody, it's romantic, it's dramatic. And I love it. Swedish interior style queen Lotta Agaton has made no secret that grey is the colour of 2014. At first I wasn't sure but having already seen this home, and now this fantastic Australian home found on beautiful blog the Style Files, I'm totally sold, how about you? Ellis House is owned by Tracie Ellis founder of textile company Aura Home. Located in Kyneton, Australia, the renovation of the 1860's home was inspired by  'luxurious simplicity'. And the great news? It's available to rent (remember this Australian home too?) - when I finally make my dream trip to Australia I'm not going to be short of beautiful holiday homes to choose from!

Could you spend your holiday padding around Ellis House?

I also love this Malmö apartment with dark grey floor, the home of a Swedish blogger, and a beautiful grey home in the Sussex countryside.

For a quick fix - I absolutely love this dove grey bed linen which gets softer and softer the more you wash it, so luxurious!

Are you a fan of the dark grey movement?

The serene white and wood home of an architect

Hello Monday! I hope you had a great weekend?! Sometimes it's so great to realise that the most beautiful interiors are often also the most simple (and small!).  The Barcelona home of architect and graphic designer Marina Senabre Roca, is the perfect example of this and such great inspiration for compact living. Marina has stuck to a serene white and wood combination throughout her one room apartment which creates a feeling of space and a beautiful oasis in the midst of one of Spain's most vibrant cities.

So beautiful don't you think? You can read more about Marina's home over at the lovely blog Lua Nord.

I've learnt never to underestimate how much plants can add to a home. Whether it's foliage brought in from the garden and placed in a simple glass vase or fresh spring flowers in a riot of colours, plants can do wonders to a space. Do you have a favourite house plant or bunch of flowers for this time of the year? My favourites can be found here (but most importantly I need greenery which doesn't mind being a tad thirsty......!).

This Malmö home is another wonderful example of how plants have been added to a white and wood inspired home to create a beautiful living space. I also love this, this and this scandinavian home.

Could you stick to this palette?

Have a lovely Monday!
